How to Get More Google Reviews for Your Roofing Company

A homeowner comparing three roofers looks at the stars first. Reviews also make every other kind of marketing work better, because people check you before they answer.

Ask at the right moment

The best time is when the homeowner is happiest:

  • The day the roof is finished and the yard is clean
  • When an insurance claim is approved
  • After a fast emergency repair

Waiting two weeks loses most of them.

Make it one tap

Send a text with the direct link to your Google review form. Every extra step loses people.

"Hi Karen, thanks for trusting us with your roof. If you have 30 seconds, a review would mean a lot to our crew: [link]"

Ask in person first

The request works best face to face, from the person who did the work. "Would you mind leaving us a review? I will text you the link right now." Then send it while you are standing there.

Give the crew a reason

Read new reviews out at the weekly meeting. Name the people mentioned. Crews that hear praise ask for more reviews.

Answer every review

  • Good reviews: thank them by name and mention the job.
  • Bad reviews: stay calm, say sorry for the experience, and move it to a phone call. Future customers read how you handle it.

What not to do

  • Do not buy reviews or write your own. Platforms remove them, and it breaks their rules.
  • Do not offer payment for a review. Google's policies do not allow incentives.
  • Do not ask only your happy customers in bulk on one day. A sudden spike looks wrong.

Use them everywhere

Put real review quotes, with permission, on your website, quotes and trucks. A review that names a neighborhood is strong local proof. See how local roofers beat storm chasers.

Questions roofers ask

How many reviews do I need?

More than the roofers around you, and recent ones. A steady flow each month matters more than a big total from years ago.

Should I ask for other platforms too?

Start with Google. Add others once that habit is working.

Do reviews matter for paid appointments?

Yes. Homeowners look you up before the inspection. Strong reviews improve your show rate and your close rate. NorthLine works best with roofers who have a real local reputation. Check your area.
